Data Warehousing - 7 December 2005

DAMA UK joined forces with the Oracle User Group for this event. Held in the beautiful Sunbury Court Conference Centre, Sunbury on Thames, the event was a great success with nearly 60 delegates attending.

Ronan Miles, Chairman of the UKOUG, opened the meeting, welcoming delegates from both organisations. Mark Pesticcio  presented on 'Data Warehousing - why bother?' which was the ideal platform to begin the day, Mark was followed by Rob Squire, again from the UKOUG, on 'Temporal Databases - managing time varying Data'. Ed Wrazen just had time before lunch to briefly report on the preliminary results of the Trillium Software Survey.

Alan Perkins of ASG started the after lunch session with 'Data Warehouse Architecture - A Blueprint for Success' and Cliff Longman of Kalido closed the presentations with 'Building the adaptive Data Warehouse' All of the presentation are available by clicking on the links. The day came to a close with a lively discussion panel session chaired by Dave Evans, DAMA UK Chairman and Ronan Miles.

Many thanks to Mark, Rob, Alan and Cliff for presenting today, without speakers we would not have events; we very much appreciate their time and effort in supporting the organisation in this way. We would like to thank event sponsors ASG and Trillium Software and Sunbury Court Conference Centre for the excellent facilities and hospitality.

An updated delegate list will shortly be available on request - please email Sue for a copy.
