Global Data Management - 30 June 2005Many thanks to the Ministry of Defence and the Whitworth Conference Centre in Shrivenham, Wilts who played host to the Global Data Management event on 30 June 2005. Over 50 delegates were in attendance to experience a full day of presentations ending with a speaker discussion panel. Dave Evans, DAMA UK Chair opened the meeting, passing to Ed Wrazen of Trillium Software who informed delegates of a new Trillium survey for Data Management Specialists. Chris Maynard of Johnsondiversey set the day with his presentation on Global Data Management on a Shoestring and Keith Gordon of Gordon Blain Associates and DAMA Standards Chair followed with a presentation on International Data Management Standards. Before the session closed for a networking lunch, Paul Smith and Andrew Cameron of PricewaterhouseCoopers gave a short report on the latest information on their Global Data Survey. Brian Perfect of Harte Hanks followed lunch discussing how to Overcome the Challenges of Global Customer Data and Captain David Burton, CDMA, Ministry of Defence closed the presentations with an international slant - Strategic Change Initiative in NATO and UK. To finish, the speakers kindly participated in the discussion panel where a lively set of questions and answers were exchanged.
