Inaugural Meeting - 1 April 2003

The first meeting of DAMA UK was very successful with over 40 people in attendance. Simon Dunford (Acting Chairman) opened the meeting extending a warm welcome to new members. Decisions were made with regard to the Acting Committee and a vision statement was discussed and agreed. Our speakers gave presentations on Raising the profile of Data Management by Keith Gordon of Gordon Blain Associates Ltd and Securing & Preventing Conviction - why IM is important for Senior Managers by Nigel Turner of British Telecom. British Telecom kindly hosted the event although unbeknown to Dave Evans (Acting Vice Chair) the venue had closed down just a couple of weeks before. With a healthy team effort the problem was solved and the event received some positive and useful feedback for future meetings.

Many thanks to British Telecom for hosting the event, the speakers for the interesting and informative presentations and to the members who attended - thank you for your support.
