Working Groups

The DAMA UK Committee sponsor and facilitate DAMA UK Working Groups, each focused on a specific aspect of Data Management. Their purpose is to identify and progress issues - and to develop advice and guidance for the benefit of DAMA UK Members. Representation includes Members from all sectors and participation is open to representatives from DAMA UK member organisations and others by invitation. Minutes of meetings and other outputs from Working Groups are available on the members' area of this website.

We welcome suggestions for new Working Groups, please contact us if you wish to put forward ideas and/or facilitate a new Group.

Communication between Business & Technology

The Communications between Business and IT Group started in July 2006 when several DAMA members all expressed their concern that there is often a gulf between the IT and Business teams which can cause us as Data Managers to be less effective than we could be.

The group aim is to explore opportunites for improving communication through a variety of means be they suggestions for effective organisational structures, explorations of new technologies and/or interpersonal skills. We have an ongoing program of seminars mainly in discussion style with active participation of the membership to work through various ideas and are open to input from anyone interested.
